Senior Communications Officer
The Senior Communications Officer will lead on the delivery of ESS’ Communication and Engagement Strategy, which links directly to our Strategic Plan 2022-2025.
This role will focus primarily on external communications, building our reputation as a trusted and effective oversight body through our social media channels, website, stakeholder and media engagement.
Key duties and responsibilities will include:
- delivery of the ESS Communication and Engagement Strategy, working with internal and external colleagues, partners and stakeholders
- building close working relationships with stakeholders and our partner organisations, acting as a trusted advisor to deliver communication and engagement activity
- being the point of contact for all media enquiries and responses
- creation and delivery of high quality, innovative and tailored communications that provide a consistent and insights-led message
- creation of engaging content across a variety of existing and new channels, including videos, feature content and events (face-to-face, virtual and hybrid)
- ongoing monitoring and evaluation of communications, using insight to inform future approaches
- ongoing monitoring and evaluation of external media channels for coverage on the environment, environmental law and coverage about ESS
- devising and creating ESS publicity and marketing materials in line with growing and establishing the ESS brand
- working collaboratively and flexibly as required, as part of the ESS Team
