Environmental Standards Scotland (ESS) has today published a video on its website, which outlines the process for submitting a representation to the organisation.

ESS can accept and will consider from anyone (free of charge) any representation relating to:

  • a public authority not complying with environmental law;
  • environmental law not being implemented, or applied properly; or
  • the effectiveness of environmental laws.

The new video, which can be accessed on the ESS website page How to Raise a Concern, is a step-by-step walk guide on how to fill out the representation form.

ESS cannot accept representations that do not relate to environmental law as this falls outside the organisation’s scope. It may be able to advise on what next steps could be taken, for example whether a different body could be contacted regarding concerns.
